XFL announces its eight home venues, including four National Football League home fields

It seems by placing XFL cities in famous National Football League locations, they are able to possibly capitalize on the downtime those fans might have in that market in the offseason.

MetLife Stadium is already home to two professional football teams - the New York Giants and New York Jets - but beginning in 2020, a third will move onto the premises.

"Football fans in the Emerald City have long had a reputation of being loud - really loud - and it's that energy and enthusiasm that convinced us that an XFL team will thrive in the Pacific Northwest at CenturyLink Field", XFL commissioner Oliver Luck said Wednesday morning.

It was announced earlier this year that XFL 2: Electric Boogaloo would launch in 2020, and on Wednesday, an important piece to the puzzle was revealed, as McMahon held a press conference with a whole lot of folks to announce the cities that will play host to the league. The team's name was not announced. The AAF also has eight teams and a 10-week schedule but has targeted mid-size markets. Instead, McMahon will spend $500 million on XFL within the first three seasons of the league. It opened to impressive TV ratings, but audiences quickly tuned out a league that seemed too gimmicky - TV cameras in the bathrooms, lascivious cheerleaders and jerseys that included self-chosen nicknames such as "He Hate Me".

The league's founder, Vince McMahon, is the CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, a wrestling entertainment company.

"You may ask yourself, what is football reimagined?"

McMahon said there will be more innovative and exciting play.

Luck said the league will have fewer stoppages, ie less stall and more ball. The league's opening weekend will arrive one year after the Alliance of American Football kicks off on February 9, 2019.
