OxygenOS 9.0.5 update for OnePlus 6T brings improvements to Screen unlock

According to the announcement, OnePlus 6T devices in the market will start receiving the new update which will bring the OxygenOS version to 9.0.5. For what it's worth, though, the newest flagship by OnePlus isn't a substantial upgrade over the OnePlus 6, instead, it adds several improvements such as an ever-so-slightly taller display with a "waterdrop" notch and reduced bottom bezels, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and more.

There's no word if, or when, this version will arrive in the United Kingdom but if you fancy something other than black it might be worth waiting a few weeks to see if more news becomes available. As far as the rest of the specs are concerned, the OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple model is exactly the same as all the other OnePlus 6T variants.

Which color would you like to see the OnePlus 6T in?

The Chinese firm does have a habit of releasing extra colours soon after launch with the OnePlus 6 getting a limited edition red design in the months that followed the initial launch. The OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple variant comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and that is the only option that was announced in China. There's no excuse. If you want it, there are plenty of options for getting it. Up front, there's a 16-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and fixed focus. The smartphone was globally launched in two colour options of "Mirror Black" and "Midnight Black". The Thunder Purple OnePlus 6T does pop next to those two, quite a bit, and that's the whole point of it. The new variant is called Thunder Purple OnePlus 6T, already known from official promo images we reported earlier today.
