Blizzard Deny Rumours That Diablo 4 Announcement Was Pulled

Speaking with Polygon, higher-ups "repeatedly stressed" Immortal is just one of the Diablo games now in development, and how it was created "from the ground up" despite allegations to the contrary.

The reaction to the news was less than impressive, with fans of the series all around the world noting their disapproval on social media. Although that ended up being misinterpreted by fans anyway, so Blizzard may not find any peace now until Diablo 4 is properly announced.

Yesterday's report revealed that Blizzard recorded a video in which co-founder Allen Adham talked about a new Diablo game. Throughout the last years, each Diablo fan was eager to see something new coming out from Blizzard when it comes to this MMO.

"We expect Activision Blizzard to outpace its peers with its in-game monetization, and expect dramatic growth in its mobile business as it launches new titles based upon its successful PC and console games", Wedbush wrote.

Probably not soon - it could take until E3 next year (so June 2019) or even later (potentially Blizzcon next year, in November).

At the time of writing this article, the Diablo Immortal cinematic trailer has raked in 446k dislikes and just 17k thumbs up. While there are plenty of great mobile games out there, from Reigns through to Ridiculous Fishing, the reliance on free-to-play often means that titles are stuffed with overbearing microtransactions.

Once it is finally available to download Diablo Immortal for Android, you will be among the first ones to get the game if you joined the pre-registration program.

In other words, the plan was always to end the show with Diablo Immortal. "Games like these attract large, harder core mobile audiences in Asia and the Diablo franchise is popular in the US, China, Europe and Korea", he continued. Those sources also said that Diablo 4 is now in development, although the team isn't "ready to commit to an announcement" as the game has gone through many big changes over the last four years.

In the months leading up to Blizzcon, rumors circulated that Blizzcon would hold a major announcement regarding the Diablo franchise. Blizzard closed its BlizzCon 2018 opening ceremony with a mobile game announcement that left everyone feeling a little put out. It is speculated that Blizzard might have avoided the decline in stock price, and angering fans if it had simply offered a teaser or glimpse at Diablo 4, which it said is still in development. Speaking to Digital Trends Blizzard is planning to bring more IPs to mobile devices.
