The Prince of Wales who ended an official visit to The Gambia on Friday has made a vow toward the country's infrastructural development.Rounding off a three-day visit to the country, Prince Charles promised that the United Kingdom would become more involved in efforts to improve Gambia's fledgling infrastructure.

The objective of their visit is to strengthen diplomatic ties between Ghana and the United Kingdom and would highlight key themes within the Commonwealth of Nations.

Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla have met Ghana's Ashanti King, Osei Tutu II in his palace, Kumasi, the country's second largest city.

"The UK and The Gambia can once again work together to defend our shared common values and to promote democracy, human rights, tolerance and the rule of law", said Prince Charles, accompanied by his wife Camilla at an event in the capital Banjul.

Despite the heat, Prince Charles looked his usual dapper self in a pale grey suit, complete with a lilac shirt, patterned tie and a smart pocket square.

Prince Charles said The Gambia's re-entry was an "important milestone" as the former British colony chose to turn its back on twenty years of Jammeh's rule.
