I didn't like the visual of him pushing me and me flying back like that.

Cormier and Lesnar have been linked to fight each other since they scuffled inside the cage following Cormier's victory over Stipe Miocic earlier this year, and the championship bout seems all but confirmed following a dominant win by Cormier against Derrick Lewis in NY. There was no Paul Heyman around but Lesnar's mic work surprised even Cormier.

It's not a great look for a fighter who could conceivably earn herself a title shot with a win over Modafferi, although missing weight hasn't disqualified other fighters from competing for a belt in their next trip to the octagon in the recent past.

After the fight, Joe Rogan asked Cormier what he thought about a potential showdown with 41-year-old Brock Lesnar. After Daniel Cormier won the UFC Heavyweight Championship, he then cut a promo and called out Brock Lesnar who emerged from the crowd. "I don't know why they haven't had Brock talking in years because he is good at it", Cormier said. If you have a puncher's chance, I've got to say that's not enough.

Cormier is both the heavyweight and light heavyweight champion in UFC while Lesnar is a former heavyweight champion, but has fought just once since 2012.

"I see Brock, right, and here's the insane thing about this". I come in here and try to do my thing.

Cormier submitted Lewis with a rear-naked choke hold midway through the second round, in a contest he had controlled from the outset through repeated takedowns as the fight played out as many had expected.

Cormier swears that's not going to happen, though.

With a diet of burgers and chicken, Cormier weighed in at a career-high 251.2 pounds for the fight. "I just had to stay longer in the gym".

Less than a month later, he was tabbed to challenge for the belt in the main event of Saturday's return to Madison Square Garden. With few options available, the promotion announced that the relatively unknown Eubanks would be fighting Valentina Shevchenko for the vacant women's 125 pounds title. I feel like fighting him at heavyweight is putting all the cards in his favor.
