Floyd Mayweather accepts Khabib Nurmagomedov's challenge: 'We're fighting'

Mayweather took the hype up a notch this week by sensationally claiming that a fight with "The Eagle" would happen next year and telling Khabib to "make it happen".

Daily Star Online previously reported how another McGregor fan, in an unrelated incident at the Las Vegas fight, intervened after McGregor was reportedly punched by a member of Nurmagomedov's team.

Khabib Nurmagomedov's manager Ali Abdelaziz's job doesn't stop when his client wins another fight - quite the contrary. "So, he gotta come to my world", Mayweather, 41, told TMZ Sports. Me and Khabib going to do insane numbers, me and McGregor are going to do insane numbers.

"We don't even know if Georges St-Pierre can make 155 pounds".

"When I face Khabib, of course, I'm getting a nine-figure payday".

"It will be more than the McGregor fight". $100 million more, guaranteed...

After beating McGregor at UFC 229, Khabib called out the boxer Mayweather via the CEO of Mayweather Promotions Leonard Ellerbe's Instagram.

McGregor lasted 10 rounds, but Mayweather ultimately maintained his flawless record. Of course, I am the king because he can not drop McGregor but I drop him easily.

Mayweather responded to Nurmagomedov's call-out and has now stepped up his social media activity in an attempt to hype a potential match-up. Nurmagomedov made McGregor tap with a submission, while Mayweather stopped McGregor on his feet in the 10th round of a Las Vegas show in 2017.

Mayweather made it clear that he's on board, telling TMZ he wants to fight. "It's very important. We have something pending there, so let's make the second fight".

Dagestani native Nurmagomedov initiated the talk by citing the pair's undefeated records in their respective codes, saying: "In the jungle, there's only one king".

Cormier warned Khabib that Mayweather will easily beat him in the squared circle. Mayweather would probably embarrass him and light him up and pick him apart all night long, but Khabib would probably go 12 rounds.

"Don't pay attention to it", White told ESPN. But... okay, Khabib, you got my leftovers.

"He's insane. He is going to start wrestling".

Khabib Nurmagomedov has been the hot topic of discussion since his big title defense at UFC 229. "He's going to get beat so bad he is going to start wrestling".

Nurmagomedov and Mayweather both have recent victories over the Irish striker McGregor.
