The character will make her debut in December, on a special three-show crossover episode of "Arrow", "The Flash", and "Supergirl".

The Colleen Atwood-designed costume is comic book accurate with the Bat symbol, cape, and Kate Kane's long cherry-red hair. It's pretty chic, which isn't surprising considering it's been designed by Oscar victor Colleen Atwood.

This first look at Batwoman comes as the crossover begins shooting in Vancouver BC. Yes, that means The Flash and Supergirl are switching nights.

Ruby Rose is ready to rise as The CW's Batwoman. "Twitter didn't exist, but we would get boxes of letters expressing opinions in all directions from were we making enough change, should we be making more change, or why did we feel like we needed to do these things?"

As we reported last month, the crossover's title, "Elseworlds", is a nod to a set of classic DC titles that tend to happen outside of the main storyline (like Gotham by Gaslight or Kingdom Come). Furthermore, the epic event will also introduce the Monitor (Designated Survivor's LaMonica Garrett), a DC Comics character of multiversal importance, Lois Lane (Grimm's Elizabeth Tulloch), and Nora Fries (Cassandra Jean Amell). This would make sense, since Batman has been obliquely referenced on Supergirl.

Berlanti also spoke out against some of the backlash Rose was met with when she was cast in the part.
