While the specifications are inline with what we have seen on other flagship devices this year, the camera is what sets the V40 ThinQ really apart.

South Korean electronics giant LG on October 4 announced the LG V40 ThinQ smartphone, featuring a total of five cameras - three on the rear and two on the front. After capturing a Cine Shot, which is a 3 second short video, on either of the five sensors accessible on the LG V40 ThinkQ, you can choose which part of the file will be in motion while the rest of the frame is left as a still image.

The LG V40 ThinQ features a 6.4-inch (3120 x 1440 pixels) FullVision OLED display.

In the camera department, the LG V40 ThinQ sports a unique triple camera setup.

When it comes to cameras, the LG V40 ThinQ has a three-camera configuration at the rear, comprising a 16-Megapixel 107-degree wide-angle camera, a 12-Megapixel standard camera, and a 12-Megapixel 2x zoom telephoto camera. You can leverage all of their abilities individually or even combine them with a neat camera trick LG has bundled. Other important camera elements like Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and HDR mode have also been improved.

As for the selfie clicking snappers, LG V40 ThinQ boasts an 8-MP standard lens staked with another 5-MP wide-angle selfie specific lens, for the top-class self-portraits. Its shipping begins between October 12 and October 18 across the USA. Dimensions are 158.7 x 75.8 x 7.7mm and its weight is 169 grams.

The LG V40 ThinQ is now official, and from the look of things, it's the manufacturer's answer to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and the iPhone XS Max.

With this triple camera setup and the dual camera at the front, the LG V40 now offers the greatest variety when it comes to taking photos in a variety of ways. The LG V40 has flagship specs and some features that still aren't common among premium smartphones. Also, there is a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage up to 2TB. The V40 ThinQ is going to be a big 'un. The two also have a fingerprint sensor located under the cameras. As with previous models, the housing is IP68 and MIL-STD 810G protected against water and dust.

Then we have the front camera setup which is a dual-camera setup with an 8MP main sensor that captures a wide 80-degree image which can be extended to 90-degree using the secondary 5MP sensor.

LG V40 ThinQ is offered in four color options - new Platinum Gray, new Aurora Black, new Moroccan Blue and bold Carmine Red.

The cameras have a handful of features such as the Triple Shot, which snaps photos from all of the three rear cameras at the same time. Users can adjust bokeh effects on subjects with an onscreen slider. The LG V40 ThinQ will run on Android 9 Pie onboard and will reportedly pack 6GB/8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
