Gary Neville tells Liverpool FC to sacrifice the Champions League

A lot watch our games from the Champions League, it's our job, to do the best we can do.

"But previous year, we had no chance to focus on one competition, we had to qualify for the Champions League".

"Why? I think their method is exhausting for the front three [Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino]". The challenge for them is can they repeat that level of energy and that level of focus every three days?

'Gary should come over and tell me exactly how that works. That's too complicated; you have to go into the next game and see who you can choose.

"The Champions League - if I was Liverpool, I would kick it into touch". That would be amusing!

"We have to do that, we have to rotate - [but] I don't know if we'd call it "rotation". An attacking game. Both teams play attacking football.

With the worldwide break now over, attentions once again turn to the Premier League, and by far the biggest match of this weekend's fixtures sees Tottenham face off with Liverpool at Wembley in a clash of title contenders.

"That's what we try".

Jurgen Klopp has hit back after Gary Neville suggested that Liverpool should ignore the Champions League and focus on the Premier League, which he believes they have a realistic chance of winning. 'It doesn't work like this.

"With a star-studded side full of attacking options the Reds are nearly always guaranteed to score and will look to heap more misery on the hosts who were beaten at Watford last time out".

Liverpool are set to face into a run of fixtures that may test Neville's theory.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp addressed the media today, ahead of his side's clash with Tottenham at Wembley tomorrow, and shared how last season's hammering by Spurs actually served as invaluable experience for his team, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

'There has not been too much talking about the situation [against Tottenham last year] and it was only about what I think about him.

In an interview with The Times, Neville said he thought Liverpool could win the league if they were able to rest their star men week-on-week, something they particularly need due to their high pressing game.

"The plan was and still is that he will make us better".

"Just one, and I think it's Liverpool", Morrison told Yahoo Sport's The Football Show.
