Palestine Renews ICC Push against Israel 'War Crimes'

The move comes a day after the USA closed the Palestinian de facto embassy in Washington because of its leaders' refusal to enter peace talks with Israel.

Then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson deemed the PLO responsible for violating a provision in USA law that prohibits the group from trying to get the International Criminal Court to prosecute Israelis for crimes against Palestinians.

The plans have sparked global outcry over the continued displacement of Palestinians by Israel.

Erekat also said the PLO has asked the ICC to speed up a preliminary probe into other Israeli war crimes, such as the massacre of at least 175 protesters in Gaza by Israeli snipers since March.

Senior diplomat Dr. Saeb Erekat demanded the global community to intervene in what he argued were USA "attacks against the worldwide system as a whole" to defend Israel. "The Trump administration wants to dismantle the worldwide order to ensure that it can stay above the laws and escape accountability". He also said that ICC judges and prosecutors could be prohibited from arriving in United States as a reprisal method.

The Palestinians accused the administration of dismantling decades of USA engagement with them. Bolton said the ICC "is already dead" to the U.S.

Malaysia also reiterated its firm position that a two-state solution, in which the Palestinians and the Israelis live side by side in peace, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine, is the only viable solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

"The US made the correct decision when it chose to close the PLO offices in Washington", he told members of his cabinet. The PLO said it has held nine meetings and submitted around 10 letters and 11 communications to the ICC concerning the Israeli violations of human rights in Palestinian territories. The Trump administration will keep its office shut when the Palestinians declined to commence direct and relevant debate with Israel.

"The US made the right decision regarding the PLO mission in Washington", Netanyahu said, according to Israel's Channel 2.

Closing the PLO mission in Washington nearly certainly will stiffen the Palestinians' opposition to any Trump peace plan now being worked on by Trump's Middle East point men, son-in-law Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt.

Previously, the Moroccan official participated in a special session of Arab Foreign ministers to discuss the crisis of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) after the United States suspended its contributions.

The Palestinian leadership is weighing retaliatory measures against U.S. penalties, including halting security cooperation, a senior Palestinian official said Wednesday. "They are no longer partners in the peace process", Erekat said.

"The complaint stressed the importance of preventing Israel from demolishing and forcibly displacing the residents of Khan al-Ahmar."
European countries urged Israel this week to refrain from demolition.
