The Duke and Duchess of Sussex met seven-year-old Ruby Joslin-Smith at the WellChild awards ceremony in London on Tuesday 4 September. And it wasn't wearing wedges.

Oz joins Meghan Markle's beagle, Guy, who made the move with her from Canada to England when she married Prince Harry, and the two seem to be getting on well. The newlyweds arrived in matching suits.

While her husband looked dapper in a navy blue ensemble, the duchess was a total sophisticate in a black, single-buttoned blazer and wide-leg pants by Altuzarra with a folded satin blouse from Deitas layered underneath.

Tonight marks former Suits star Meghan's first time at the moving event, which celebrates the inspiring qualities of some of the country's seriously ill young people and those who care for them.

Meghan gave Matilda a rose from a bouquet the youngster had just handed to the Duchess, while Harry made a "pinky pledge" with Matilda before the awards ceremony began, by hooking his little finger around the hers.

WellChild, a charity of which Harry is a proud Patron, aims to raise awareness and support for seriously ill children.

According to People, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have chose to call their puppy Oz.

'The children and young people you will meet tonight are coping with challenges few of us can imagine, yet they inspire those around with such positivity and determination every day'.

Safe to say the night was a great success, and we have a feeling Duchess Meghan may feel a little better about this week's event than last's. She is inseparable from him'.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have added to their family. For a gala presentation of Hamilton last week, to raise money for her husband's Sentebale charity, Meghan slipped into a stunning tuxedo dress by Canadian label Judith and Charles. Matilda had watched the royal wedding and was very nervous about meeting them but they completely put us at ease.
