Chelsea give Sarri flawless Premier League start at Huddersfield

Maurizio Sarri has handed Kepa Arrizabalaga and Jorginho handed their Premier League debuts as Chelsea take on Huddersfield on Saturday.

World Cup victor Kante's scruffy 34th-minute volley and Jorginho's audacious penalty on the stroke of half-time put Chelsea in control before Pedro wrapped up the points in the closing stages.

The midfielder, who joined manager Maurizio Sarri in moving from Napoli in July, scored in the 45th minute to help usher in the new era at Chelsea. We did it better in the second, there was more space and time.

"Then in the best period which we had in the second half after 20-25 minutes where we hit the bar again, where we were unlucky, we conceded the third one and then at the end it was a deserved win for Chelsea". "But I have seen a player who is very happy to stay here, so I think it will be no problem, the new contract".

There were questions over whether Huddersfield could keep things rolling after their achievement last season and they really didn't play badly, especially in the first half.

Kante, back on duty just 27 days after starting France's win over Croatia in the World Cup final, scored the opener, thumping a volley into the ground and past goalkeeper Ben Hamer from a Willian cross. The players in this moment need to think what to do too much, and so the ball is not moved at the right speed, material and mental, at this moment.

Despite dominating possession, Sarri's side looked uneasy early on and managed only two shots in the whole of the first half.

The 59-year-old former Napoli manager says that next season's preparations with be very different, as he aims to make his mark on the Stamford Bridge club.

"So I hope he can improve very fast".

Chelsea were tested by Huddersfield's height and physicality in a scrappy first half that saw striker Steve Mounie crash a header off the post with the score 1-0, and Sarri said Premier League refereeing will be another element of his adjustment to English football. So we were not ready for this situation and it was a problem and this team did not have the experience against this.

"Today with an Italian referee maybe there were 15 fouls more than with this referee".
