Kelvin Benjamin complimented Panthers WR after preseason game

As fate would have it, the Panthers and Bills will meet Thursday night in Buffalo for their first preseason game.

During individual warmups about an hour and a half before the game, a photographer from The Charlotte Observer captured Newton approaching Benjamin as he spoke with former teammate and current Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis. The receiver didn't seem too eager to talk to his former quarterback in the exchange, which you can see here.

It's safe to say that this beef is not over just yet.

In an interview with The Athletic's Tim Graham last week, the Bills wide receiver explained that he wished he hadn't been drafted by the Panthers and lamented the fact that he had to play with a QB like Newton. After some more choice words, both players walked away with Newton waving him away. "It just felt like I wasn't in that position".

After Benjamin's comments were published, McDermott expressed disapproval, saying Sunday (via ESPN), "There's a time and a place - I'm not saying specific to what comments were made - there's a time and place for things like that".

Of his impromptu "meeting" with Cam, Benjamin told reporters after the game, "I wasn't even trying to listen".

Benjamin was traded last season to Buffalo after his production declined in the aftermath of an ACL injury.
