West Ham United have announced the signing of Arsenal's Spanish forward Lucas Perez, on a three year deal, for a fee in the region of £5m, including add-ons.

"I chose to come here because, first, it is the Premier League, second, it's a lovely club and the fans are always helping the club and, third, for me it's an incredible opportunity and an fantastic project the club are leading, being ambitious and keen to achieve good things", said Sanchez.

Perez was signed from Deportivo La Coruna for £17m in the summer of 2016 but failed to establish himself as a regular in the team.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Espanyol. West Ham were already interested but now West Brom have joined the race to sign him.

The striker said: 'Today I would like to thank Arsenal fans for their support, they always showed me affection and love from the first time I arrived in London.

'I wish you all the best for the future and I hope you can go and achieve great things'.

Arsenal is reducing on the number of players in its record books to cut on their wage budget which is now high since the gunners do have players like Mesut Ozil who are getting paid huge sums of money so Lucas Perez joins that list of players who get axed from the club.

Lucas is happy at Arsenal but he wants to play regularly and West Ham is an option for him.

"He is a very experienced player that Manuel and I both know well from Spain", said Husillos.

"He has great technical quality, and can play as both the main striker or the second striker in a deeper role".

West Ham also sold one player on deadline day, shipping 18-year-old Portuguese midfielder Domingos Quina to Watford.
