Nintendo Leaks New 'Super Smash Bros.' Character

Nintendo didn't offer any further confirmation as to what on Earth happened during the Smash Bros Ultimate Direct, but at the very least it sounds like Luigi is doing as well as can be hoped after an encounter with Death.

The new original fighters that were featured in the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Nintendo Direct capped off the presentation. Alucard, the tragic hero from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, appears as an Assist Trophy, lending his cursed steel in battle. And Nintendo confirmed two more fan-requested characters are joining the Smash Bros. roster as Echo Fighters: Dark Samus from the Metroid Prime series, and Chrom from Fire Emblem: Awakening. If you missed it, here's a breakdown of the latest reveals for the new game.

Whatever it is, it'll likely get announced soon as the director mentioned there are still more fighters and aspects of Ultimate to dive into. We haven't had one of those since The Subspace Emissary in Super Smash Bros.

Will you be dropping some cash on the Super Smash Bros. The stage is going completely over-the-top with 34 music tracks, from across the Castlevania series. Each stage in the game will also support eight-player battles (additional accessories may be required for multiplayer modes and are sold separately) and feature the ability to turn off hazards like the Yellow Devil in Wily Castle. He got his first lead role in 2001's Luigi's Mansion on the Gamecube, and was played by John Leguizamo in the infamous Super Mario Bros movie. Rathalos is the first character in Smash history that can show up as both an assist trophy and a boss character in single-player modes. Not only did Sakurai suggest that more character reveals are coming, but he also shared an image of the main menu which had one of the game modes blurred out - that reveal, he said, is coming later. The Direct also showed a glimpse of the Tourney Mode in Ultimate, which supports up to 32 players and can mix-and-match players in with CPU opponents. A Squad Strike mode will allow players to do battle in 5 vs 5 or 3 vs 3 formats, and as always all game play options can be enjoyed on-the-go.
