Mourinho decides Pogba's future after stunning Barcelona bid

In a bid that has been labelled "disrespectful" and "pathetic" by fans, Manchester United have unsurprisingly rejected an offer for World Cup winning midfielder, Paul Pogba.

However, while Valverde admitted he is an admirer of Pogba, he was careful not to add fuel to the fire regarding the former Juventus man's United sutuation. Raiola is known to have approached United about a raise for Pogba after Sanchez moved to Old Trafford from Arsenal in January.

Raiola, who took a staggering £41m cut of Pogba's then world record fee when he returned to Old Trafford from Italy in 2016, sounded out some of Europe's top clubs in January and Pep Guardiola confirmed that the player had been offered to Manchester City.

Pogba has three years left on his current deal in England, but many believe he will leave the club before 2021.

Mourinho said in July that Pogba got better as the World Cup progressed because the stakes only got higher and higher, whereas the ups and downs of the club season caused him to lose focus.

And finding a player to slot in for Pogba would improve incredibly tough with such time constraints. There is also no indication at this stage that Pogba is willing to agitate for a transfer. Thank you. He's my friend, I grew up with him.

Pogba now draws an astounding figure of £290,000 weekly wages with the Red Devils after his then record-breaking move from Juventus in 2016, but would have to settle for a lesser salary if he joins Barcelona, reports Mundo Deportivo.

"Why? Because it's closed for a month, where he can only think about football".
