According to YouTuber Brandon Lee on his This is Tech Today channel, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will drop in on October 4, 2018.

"We've built Android 9 to learn from you-and work better for you-the more you use it", gushed Sameer Samat, Google VP of product management for Android and Google Play, earlier today. The company even did a Q&A session with the developers behind the update. Instead of a trio of buttons along the bottom of the screen, each one representing a different navigation method, Android 9 Pie uses gestures.

Google's Android Pie update is rolling out and we expect a long list of Galaxy devices to get upgraded and move on from Android Oreo. Devices that participated in the Beta program from Sony Mobile, Xiaomi, HMD Global, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and Essential, as well as all qualifying Android One devices, will receive the update by the end of this fall. For apps that aren't commonly used, the phone will put them to sleep so they don't draw as much power. Hints that Google has been working on an official dark theme for Android have been around for a while now, but with the latest preview we finally have a dedicated setting to switch between a light and dark theme in Android P. Android Pie is set to roll out to Pixel devices today, just around two days before Samsung will take the stage in NY to unveil the Galaxy Note 9. New emojis include a llama, a superhero, and a gender-neutral family.
