Moto Z3 Unveiled with Breakthrough 5G Mod

The company has introduced a Moto Mod as well which will allow the Z3 to be compatible with Verizon's 5G network whenever it arrives.

Verizon's mobile 5G network is going to launch early next year, even if the company hasn't outright said it.

On Thursday, Motorola unveiled the Moto Z3, its new phone and the first on the market that can be upgraded to access 5G networks.

Exclusive to Verizon, this phone will get you a discount on a Moto Mod. The company claimed it to be the "world's first 5G-upgradable smartphone", which can be done by snapping on a "Moto Mod", an accessory that has to be purchased separately.

As stated earlier on, the Motorola Moto Z3 will be available exclusively on Verizon network in the U.S. The device will start shipping on Augst 16. The phone sports a glass cover with aluminum metal frames, and a 2.5D glass design on the front.

The Moto Z3 could be called a 2018 flagship with 2017 specifications. To the surprise of many, the device was found to ship with a 6-inch 1080p 18:9 display, a Snapdragon 835, a 3,000mAh battery, and a price tag of $480.

It comes in Ceramic Black color. In the rear panel, we get the pin connector for the Moto Mods. The phone is powered by 2.45GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU. The storage memory is expandable by up to 2TB via a microSD card with 4GB RAM. There is a 3000mAh capacity battery inside that is going to keep the Moto Z3 running all day long and of course it supports Motorola's TurboPower or Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner placed on the right edge. The Moto Z3, out of the box, runs Android 8.1 in addition to a few Motorola tidbits such as Moto Display, Moto Actions, and others.

As for the cameras, the Motorola Moto Z3 uses a dual 12 MP camera setup on the back with a one being a standard RGB sensor when the second one is a Monochrome sensor. The rear cam is also complemented by a dual LED flash as well for better low light photography.

Around the back, you'll find a dual-lens camera system created to take portrait mode photos and photos with better overall contrast.

In the imaging department, the flagship comes with a pair of 12-megapixel shooters on the back, with the secondary camera being a depth sensor/telephoto lens.

These questions will likely surface as the 5G Moto Mod's release nears. Mobile 5G technology will be released throughout 2019 by Verizon.
