A video has surfaced of movie actor George Clooney's crash in Italy which sent him to the hospital.

Clooney is thrown over the front of his bike and up in the air before landing on the asphalt, where the auto driver and other witnesses come to help.

He collided with an oncoming auto that turned suddenly into his lane. The actor was riding to work when the incident took place.

"George was treated and released from an Olbia hospital", the rep said.

Italian news agency ANSA quoted driver Antonello Viglino as saying he was "stationary on the roadway" and ready to turn left when two motorcycles came from the other direction.

"He is recovering at his home and will be fine, " Clooney spokesman Stan Rosenfield told The Associated Press in an email.

Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera has obtained footage of the crash from a security camera.

'A auto (a Mercedes E SW) did not respect the right of way and hit him.

Regardless, a local police spokesperson told the BBC that the driver of the Mercedes "did not respect the right of way and hit [Clooney, ]" who "fell and slammed the winshield of the Mercedes".

Local daily La Nuova Sardegna said the 57-year-old Clooney had been headed to a film set on Tuesday when his motorbike was hit by a auto. The driver of the vehicle called authorities, who then dispatched the Municipal Police, an ambulance and the fire department.

He has been living there for the summer in order to work on the series Catch 22. [The] MRI was negative, and he is not seriously injured.
