Instagram Stories, Now Twice as Big as Snapchat, Adds Music Integration

Following the launch of IGTV, as well as a new four-way video chat feature, the social media app is now introducing music to Stories. Tracks can be previewed before they're added; Once chosen, you can fast forward or rewind so the tune starts at the moment you choose. Instagram is adding new songs to the music library every day. You can search for a specific song or artist, or browse by genre, mood, and what's popular.

The music feature on the app is now only available for IOS, but a version for the Android will be coming soon.

If you're really trying to set the mood for that flawless Instagram story, it might have just become easier.

When the feature reaches users, they will find a new Music mode that can be found under the in-app camera shutter button.

Obviously, people who view your story will hear the song playing while they gawk at your photo or video. In addition, only iOS users will be able to choose a song before capturing a photo or video, but Android will soon also have that capability. Additionally, the option to choose a song before capturing video is now only available on iOS platform, with Android rollout expected soon. When your story is being watched, the song will play and a sticker will show the song title and artist name. Additionally, the feature is now only in select countries. Through that same sticker feature, you can now add a licensed soundtrack to your Instagram Stories post as part of a new update.
