Chelsea's Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard.

Real Madrid are long-term admirers of the Belgium global winger and speaking in December, Hazard's father Thierry claimed that his son had turned down the offer of a new Chelsea contract in the hope of encouraging the reigning European champions to act upon their interest this summer. Chelsea's drop from first to fifth has come amid a lot of discussion about their ability to still compete at the top end of the market and, when asked about such inconsistency, Hazard conspicuously said: "This is Chelsea!"

The 27-year-old indicated that he wants Chelsea to bring in fresh players before he agrees to continue at the club, but even then he has not clarified whether he will be a Blue next season.

"After the World Cup, then we will be ready for the next season".

Hazard announced his arrival at Chelsea after their memorable Champions League win six years ago.

Ander Herrera claims that Eden Hazard is the most effective participant within the Premier League, regardless of Mo Salah scooping all of the awards this season.

Get breaking news alerts. But, you know, one thing for sure is I'm happy here.

"I feel happy at Chelsea, but I have mixed feelings because I would like to discover new things as well". But, no, I think this year we dropped too many points at Stamford Bridge.

Herrera could be tasked with stifling the winger he regards so highly when Chelsea play United in the FA Cup final this Saturday.

"He has some special abilities that I think he hasn't trained them because you can not train them, you just have them".

As regards to the best goalkeeper, the Spaniard had his eyes on the very same player any Premier League supporters would have; David De Gea. So, we will give everything. I have one week to play now. So the season has been bad.

Hazard has scored 16 goals in 46 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions this season.

Meanwhile Mauricio Pochettino is set to snub any Chelsea bid to lure him to Stamford Bridge - and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is poised to cave in to the Argentine's demands for money for new players.
