Having found some light at the end of the tunnel, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be keen to expose the chinks in Kings XI Punjab's (KXIP) armoury during their must-win Indian Premier League encounter on Monday. Virat Kohli's men have really not been able to pick up the pieces as they go to every match as though they are playing for the first time.

Pant's efforts still should not have been enough for Delhi to post a commanding total, but RCB completely collapsed with four overs of the innings remaining.

Despite Saturday's victory, RCB continue to be second from bottom with eight points from 11 matches. "Have always loved batting with this guy", he wrote beneath a picture of him embracing De Villiers. De Villiers then saw RCB over the line and ended unbeaten on 72 off 37 balls.

Then it was a complete show as the debutant and all-rounder Abhishek Sharma hampered the Bangalore bowling attack in the death overs.

While Kohli and AB de Villiers anchored an easy chase against Daredevils with stylish half-centuries, KXIP bowlers were under the pump, being taken to cleaners by Sunil Narine and Dinesh Karthik as KKR scored a mammoth 245 in the last game. In the end it was the seasoned campaigner Virat Kohli (70) who stole Rishabh Pant's limelight at the Kotla. They need to win each of their remaining four games to stand any chance of qualifying for the play-offs.

A little later Chahal sent back Jason Roy in a similar fashion as the Englishman failed to read the wrong one off the Indian spinner's hands, leaving Delhi reeling at two for 16 in the third over. Glenn Maxwell, Liam Plunkett and Shahbaz Nadeem have been dropped. The South African star, who brought up the winning runs in style with a six off pacer Trent Boult, hit four boundaries and six sixes during his stay in the middle. Kohli and ABD partnership is yet to click in this year's IPL.

It was Delhi's 9th defeat in 12 games.

Debutante Lamichhane had a great outing as he was the most economical bowler for DD with his match figures of 4-0-25-1.

Earlier in the day, already out of the play-off reckoning in IPL 2018, DD, in an attempt to unearth new talent, handed debuts to Abhishek Sharma and Nepal's Sandeep Lamichhane.
