Bloodstained: Curse Of The Moon Whips Nintendo Switch And 3DS This Month

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon will release worldwide for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam) on May 24.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is an upcoming 2D action platformer that was successfully Kickstarted by former Castlevania director Koji Igarashi all the way back in 2015. It became one of the top selling games of the company.

"We were recently informed that the Bloodstained Retro spin-off game will not be available on GOG".

The indie studio will be releasing a spin-off title called Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon as announced at the BitSummit indie games show in Kyoto. Its initial $500,000 goal was quickly eclipsed, and by the time the campaign ended more than five million dollars above that, Koji Igarashi pledged and promised a bevy of stretch goals for the game.

Inti Creates found a lot of success in its game, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The retro game was never going to be on GOG.

While Ritual of the Night harks back to Symphony of the Night and later Castlevania games, Curse of the Moon looks back further into the series' history for inspiration, with trippy music, a limited colour palette and a small set of animations. "It's a separate project being developed and published entirely by Inti Creates and ArtPlay".

Koji Igarashi, a Japanese developer who is well-known for his work on the Castlevania series and is now developing Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, talked about the upcoming spin-off in an official trailer.
