Highs will climb into the lower 70s, which is near average for early May. Combined with daytime heating, showers and storms will be more likely this afternoon and evening with a few heavy downpours possible.

A cold front is moving through the region Monday morning.

Clearly, with more showers in the forecast, those numbers will go up a bit.

These isolated storms will exit the area quickly by this evening. The biggest threat with any storm that gets going will be wind and hail.

A quiet and cool way to start the work week. The sun would not have been your friend today folks! A low pressure system will slide a warm front through and bring southwest winds. Right now the best chance for widespread storms may end up being Thursday and Saturday based on the latest computer models but we'll have to keep an eye on model consistency to see if that trend continues.

Thursday and Friday are trending cooler and wetter.

Another area of low pressure will move up from the south on Tuesday.

We are tracking spotty showers already forming across parts of West Alabama. Once again, highs will only be in the mid-60s.

The mercury will return to the mid-70s on Wednesday, then we'll be back in the 80s as the weekend approaches.
