Still, given what we know so far we can make some inferences as to the phone we're eagerly anticipating with the HTC U12 launch.

There have been numerous reports on the web regarding the HTC U12+, right from the renders of the device to the specifications. The former is expected to be the Taiwanese phone manufacturer's flagship offering for 2018, the smartphone was expected to be unveiled in May.

In an email sent to the press this morning and posted on their website, HTC posted a photo of neatly laid out phone components, with the text "Coming Soon".

HTC has begun to ramp up their marketing campaign for their next major smartphone release, teasing that they will be making a proper announcement on May 23.

The HTC U11 was a well-received smartphone even though it did not have a dual-camera setup or thin bezels. The upcoming smartphone is expected to be company's flagship device which is expected to break covers by the end of this month. The device's camera performance and build quality were appreciated and we expect HTC to build on that with the HTC U12+.

This information gels with previous leaks from Evan "EVLeaks" Blass, who has given a look at what he claims is the HTC U12+ ahead of time. According to the image, the smartphone will sport a horizontally aligned dual rear camera along with LED flash and a fingerprint sensor. It will run on a 3420mAh battery with a Qualcomm Quick Charge technology. Considering it's 2018, we'll also probably see a dual camera setup on the back, while the same likely goes for the front as well if leaks are anything to go by.
