Xiaomi Could Launch 2 Android One Devices In India

Just a few weeks after hiking the cost of its power banks in India, Xiaomi has now made a decision to increase the rates of its popular Redmi Note 5 Pro and 55-inch Mi TV 4 as well.

Xiaomi claimed that it is seeing a huge demand for Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi LED TV 4 (55 inch), and to ramp up supply for the smartphone, it is importing a significant amount of PCBAs as our local PCBA production would only ramp up 100% by third quarter of the ongoing calendar year.

After the new prices, Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi LED TV 4 will now be available at Rs 14,999 and Rs 44,999, respectively. A fingerprint scanner will be included on the back as well, and this is actually a very similar setup to the one we've seen on the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

The Xiaomi Redmi S2 is shown to have a 16MP front-facing camera and a dual rear camera composed of a primary 12MP sensor and a secondary 5MP sensor. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes in a single storage variant - 64GB - which is expandable via microSD card in a hybrid dual-SIM format. While there are several configurations that could be sold in the future, the ones landing in India could be the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage models.

As the Redmi S2 sports an 18:9 5.99-inch 1440×720 pixels IPS display.

The Mi A2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset which offers the added power of four Kryo 260 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. Also, the Mi 6X and the Android One smartphone will have the same front-facing 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor. Could this mean an end of flash sales for the Redmi Note 5 Pro?

Xiaomi made a detour from its launch itinerary for previous year by unveiling the Mi Mix 2s as its first flagship for 2018. According to the earlier Mi A1, the phone was codenamed "tissot_sprout", henceforth these two new "sprout" codenamed devices might be two new devices from Xiaomi under Android One's initiative.

Asus has also confirmed the 6GB RAM variant, priced at Rs 14,999, which will go on sale later. The Zenfone Max Plus comes with a Full HD+ (2160 x 1080) 5.7-inch screen with a compact body equivalent to a 5.2-inch smartphone, Asus said.
