"The ministers who supported killers of Kathua rape case victim and threatened police not to make arrests, have no right to stay in the cabinet".

A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra issued notice to the Bar Council of India, Bar Association of Jammu High Court and Bar Association of Kathua court seeking their response, CNN News18 reported. The court has asked for a petition to be filed in the matter.

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh on Friday said that the investigating agency Crime Branch has fairly probed the Kathua rape and murder case and the culprits would be punished as per the law. She demanded for justice to be served in both the cases irrespective of the victim's caste or religion.

On April 9, some lawyers had tried to prevent a police team from filing a charge sheet in the case following which another case was registered on Tuesday against those who obstructed the sleuths. "We have nothing on record", the bench had said in the morning, when the matter was first mentioned. The body of an eight-year-old girl, belonging to the nomadic Bakherwal community, was found in Rassana forest on January 17, a week after she went missing while grazing her horses.

"Its shame on those who raped and killed 8 year old girl brutally and also shame for those who want protect these rapist and murdered", he added".

The Crime Branch filed a main chargesheet against seven people and a separate chargesheet against the juvenile in a court in Kathua district earlier this week.

#4. Hours after this protest by Congress leaders, the CBI - at 4:30 am this morning - detained Unnao gang rape-accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar. The resignation came after the outrage over their participation in a rally organised by Hindu Ekta Manch to support accused in the Kathua rape and murder case.
