Wrestlemania 2018: She nearly break my arm, says Stephanie McMahon

It's far from uncommon to have a celebrity match at WrestleMania. Now they clash one-on-one for the first time since the main event of WrestleMania 31. This year's WrestleMania 34 did feature a newcomer stepping into the squared circle for the first time, but this time, it was different.

Rousey and fellow former Olympian Kurt Angle topped WWE on-screen/off-screen executives Triple H and wife Stephanie McMahon.

There has been pressure on the former UFC women's bantamweight champion since she announced the decision to switch from MMA to pro wrestling, saying the cage-figtting crossover wasn't just a "smash-and-grab", and her debut performance didn't disappoint.

Rousey celebrated Sunday night the same way she used to celebrate wins as a UFC fighter - with a huge plate of hot wings.

While Ronda Rousey's confirmed WWE debut contest was hugely anticipated, so was a potential return of The Undertaker.

Strowman went out to the ring and told Cesaro and Sheamus his partner was in the crowd.

Thankfully, that was not the case by a long shot.

In an excellent match that had fans louder than they'd been to that point, Rousey scored the submission victory with an arm bar on Stephanie, delighting the crowd.

To kick off the show are three very talented performers looking to hold the "workhorse title" in WWE.

Since Triple H and Stephanie McMahon make the rules, the rules just go out of the window. He was predictably great.

The first-ever WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal wrapped up the kickoff show positively with a memorable battle royal that outdid its men's counterpart. "I gotta wrestle so often I can't have wings every night".

As Rousey and Angle celebrated their triumph, medics were attending McMahon at ringside as she appeared injured.

"I owe the WWE universe an apology, because I thought they were going to boo me out of the building from day one", she said. I'm just really, really glad I gave it time instead of giving up and feeling it was the end of the world. Hopefully we'll find out tonight on Raw.

That's the Ronda Rousey that WWE wants for the foreseeable future. After becoming the biggest action star in Hollywood, The Rock's return at WrestleMania 28 became the highest grossing wrestling event of all-time.

Rowdy Ronda Rousey left the UFC after losing her final two fights, but is credited by many with nearly single-handedly building the competition's women's division.

Stephanie says she got beat by the best in the world and she doesn't feel bad about that.
