Spanish LaLiga Report: Eibar v Real Madrid 10 March 2018

Dmitrovic produced another wonderful save to thwart Ronaldo from 12 yards after a great cross from Bale before the Welshman glanced a header just wide of the far post as a second Madrid goal looked imminent.

After a slow start to the season, Ronaldo has netted 13 goals in his last seven appearances to take his total to 33 in 34 games in all competitions. His double against Eibar allowed him to move into the top three scorers in the league, trailing Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi on 24 and 20 respectively.

The home side restored parity five minutes into the second half when Iván Ramis headed home from Leon's cross.

Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane sent on Karim Benzema and Lucas Vazquez to look for the victor.

"The worst part is that their goals both came from our mistakes", Dmitrovic said.

Real Madrid's German midfielder Toni Kroos (L) celebrates a goal with Real Madrid's Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo during the Spanish league football match between Valencia CF and Real Madrid CF at the Mestalla stadium in Valencia on January 27, 2018.

Raphael Varane was forced to come off after a clash of heads during Real Madrid's La Liga clash with Eibar on Saturday. He was replaced by Nacho.

Zidane called the win "special" because Eibar, in his opinion, outplayed the visitors.

Before kick-off, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona had been the only two sides to leave Eibar with all three points since the end of October and Zinedine Zidane's side struggled to get to grips with their wingers during the early exchanges. "We knew we were going to suffer and we did, we had trouble getting hold of the ball but we fought together with character and got the win". Eibar was left in eighth place.
