On Friday Netflix announced Obama would be David Letterman's first guest in the former late night host's six-episode, 60-minute Netflix talk show series "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction" streaming Friday, January 12.

Former President Barack Obama is coming back.to television. Stephen Colbert has taken over and done a fine job, but it's just not the same.

Letterman quit "The Late Show" in 2015 following a 22 year run.

The lineup of influential guests includes George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai, Jay-Z, Tina Fey, Howard Stern as well as Barack Obama.

Field segments will bring Dave to locations far and wide, expressing his curiosity and desire to dig deeper on a specific topic related to the iconic guest featured in the episode.

In addition to the rapper, Beyoncé, and their daughter, Blue Ivy, actors including Thandie Newton, Jessica Chastain, David Oyelowo, Brie Larson and Mindy Kaling appear in various scenes of the project.

"You never know when you might learn something", Letterman said about his new show. Netflix and the Radical brothers put this show idea together. "These are people that I admire".
