Instagram users could soon cross-post Stories to WhatsApp

People now have to share the same photos and videos on these social media platforms one by one.

Instagram Stories lets users string a bunch of images and videos together in a slideshow format.

The stories shared will appear on WhatsApp status bar and just like Instagram, they will disappear after 24 hours.

Truth be told, I've been expecting Facebook - which acquired Instagram back in 2012 and WhatsApp in 2014 - to use Instagram's Stories tool to drive more people to WhatsApp's social Status feature for some time. It also broke WhatsApp's record of the most messages sent in one day.

How to share Insta Stories on WhatsApp?

Phone Arena added that users will be able to cross-post their Instagram Stories by tapping the "Share" button on the Instagram app and selecting WhatsApp before clicking the "Send" button to have it published. The official rollout of the feature may happen soon, however, the timeline for the same hasn't been disclosed yet.

Instagram users will see an option to share Stories to WhatsApp on the Instagram sharing screen.

A Facebook spokesperson said: "We are always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you".

Facebook is in the process of bringing the Instagram Stories functionality to instant messaging service, WhatsApp. India is one of the biggest market for the Facebook-owned messaging app.

"New Year's Eve was WhatsApp's biggest messaging day ever, closing out a successful year for the company that included the introduction of several new features". The app will become available on Android and iOS in six countries including Chile, Israel, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, and Uruguay.
