Kashmir Administrative Services exam topper Anjuman Bashir Khan Khattak on Sunday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for describing his achievement as an inspiration to the youth of the country in his final edition of "Mann ki Baat" of 2017.

"Each individual, family, organisation and all government departments and ministries will have to contribute towards this", he said adding every individual involved in science and technology should think of innovation keeping their focus for the making of New India", Prime Minister said. "Right now, while talking to you, I got an idea whether we could organise a mock parliament in every district of India?"

Stressing the importance of voting, PM Modi welcomed those born in the year 2000 to the electoral system as "they will become eligible voters". The Prime Minister has been regularly dwelling on his concept of New India, which he had outlined in 2016.

The PM said that "Swachh Survekshan 2018" will be carried out from January 4 to March 10 next year to evaluate the cleanliness of India's urban areas. "As voters of this century, you too must be feeling proud", said PM Modi.

He pointed out that New India offers everyone a platform to fulfil their dreams as the country rises above casteism, communalism, terrorism and corruption. "Now, we must move from "Positive India" to "Progressive India", he said in his monthly radio address.

Addressing the nation through 39th edition of "Mann ki Baat", the PM said around 1,300 women applied for Haj without a male guardian.

The PM also announced proudly that on this Republic Day, leaders of all ten ASEAN countries would be coming to India as chief guests. Such a thing has never happened before in the history of India. "On January 26, the arrival of great leaders of 10 nations of the world as a unit is a matter of pride for all Indians". ASEAN completed its 50 years of formation in 2017 and in 2017, 25 years of India's partnership with ASEAN was completed.
