Protective order filed against OU running back Rodney Anderson

Rodney Anderson, the Oklahoma Sooners' leading rusher this season, has been accused of rape by a woman who recently filed an emergency order of protection against him, according to ESPN.

In the protective order, which was obtained by the Oklahoman's Brooke Pryor, the woman says the incident took place after she met Anderson and his friends at a bar on November 16, two days before the Sooners' game at Kansas. She said she planned to take an Uber home to her apartment until Anderson's friends were "insistent" that she let the football star take her home. While discussing the events of the night with a friend weeks later, she was "recalling images and feelings of him forcing his fingers" inside her, the court filing says. A hearing is scheduled to take place in regards to the petition on December 18 in front of Special District Judge Jequita H. Napoli. Oklahoma, ranked No. 2, will face No. 3 Georgia in the Rose Bowl on January 1. He knows where I live and I'm scared for my safety.

The petition says Anderson, 21, walked the woman home after meeting her for the first time at a bar and drinking.

The Washington Post does not normally name the victims of sexual assault.

Derek Chance, Anderson's Oklahoma City-based attorney, called the allegations "patently false" in a statement released Tuesday to the Tulsa World.

"Mr. Anderson first learned of (the) request for a civil protective order late yesterday evening", the statement reads. As she attempted to leave, the woman claims Anderson followed her. He also has 16 catches for 283 yards and five scores.

The Sooners are fortunate that that they have two highly talented running backs like Sermon and Adams to bring in if Anderson is unavailable to play.

Anderson now leads the Sooners with 960 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns on the ground.

The university said in a very brief statement last night that they are "aware [of the allegations] and are gathering more information". Mixon is now with the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals.
