Pep Guardiola was very clear in his pre-match press conference that his team will take West Ham very seriously, regardless of the Hammers' awful form.

"We have to respect them and the best respect to them is to be serious and play the strongest team possible".

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has hailed the impact of manager Pep Guardiola as the side continue to blow the competition away this season.

"You have to try and win all the games".

The former Manchester United boss travels to the Etihad Stadium hoping his side can avoid defeat and save him from an unwanted personal record.

Needless to say, Pep Guardiola's side are the clear favourites for this tie, and Ince predicts a 5-0 victory for the home side.

Victory over the Hammers would mark a 13th straight league triumph for Guardiola's team, equalling the record for the most consecutive wins in a season, owned jointly by Chelsea last season and Arsenal in 2001-02. In some ways he has a positive impact on the team and the reality was we lost two games and we drew one against Leicester. But why do I have to think it's already done or that it will be easy? I think it is ridiculous. And that's what we have done in this period. I was asked many times about that when we had good results.

Huddersfield and Southampton both went close to ending City's long winning run but their efforts were ultimately undone by late Raheem Sterling goals.

"But I said last week, and I'm saying again that I am focusing on the players here. It's hard to understand and to accept because, before the games, we talk about the first 15-20 minutes and trying not to concede goals and then, in the game, first ball into the box, we concede goals or we make some mistakes - a little mistake that is costing so many points".
