PUBG on Xbox One to Have Limited FPS at Launch

Console fans who have been waiting with baited breath for the release of PlayerUnknown's BattleGrounds on Xbox One X. They are also especially happy to read that the game will "definitely" run at 60FPS on the system according to creator Brian Greene in a recent interview with GamesTM magazine.

While the PCs are engineered to handle the performance of the titles with higher rates, consoles struggle to achieve the same, but the Xbox One X will be different.

PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS developer Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene has announced that the game will have a limited FPS cap on the Xbox One at launch. Greene said they were getting 30 to 40 FPS last time he checked.

The game is poised to make a splash, no matter its frames per second, that's for sure, since it's already taken the world by storm these past few months.

Still, Greene said in his tweet that the team was "constantly refining the game & exploring options to increase FPS", so it may well get better in the future.

It will be available worldwide on Xbox One on December 12 under "Xbox Game Preview".

The one thing that caught my attention was the statement from Brendan where he stated that they still aim to get PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds run at 60FPS on Xbox One, and that's why we have kept the game under Xbox Preview Program. Yes, it is important, but it's not as important for us as it is in a twitch shooter. Microsoft is promoting the game as a "console launch exclusive" for Xbox. The game is still in Early Access, which means that it isn't finished yet and its development is ongoing. "Fuck" cause it's a lot of work.

The mobile version of PUBG will launch in China first and so far no outlet is confirming that the game will launch in other parts of the world, but it will be insane not to capitalize on the PC game's wild popularity.
