WhatsApp finally lets you play YouTube videos within the chat

"When recording a Voice Message, just swipe up to lock recordings, so you can continue to record without keeping your finger down", read the description. Now users can stay in the WhatsApp message window and watch the video.

The iOS app update v2.17.81 has made it easier for users to record and send voice messages.

According to WABetaInfo, in a new Android update, WhatsApp is developing a new button that will allow users to quickly switch from voice to video call without stopping the voice call in progress.

WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging firm, after testing some of its features for a brief time, has started rolling it out on iOS devices. First coming to the voice recording lock feature, as the name suggests, with this feature you can actually lock the voice recording so you don't need to record a voice message without holding the button down. YouTube Go had one simple goal: improving the user experience in watching videos in developing countries where the internet speeds are comparatively very slow. A Chrome Web Store extension will let you watch videos of your choice. By introducing this feature - WhatsApp possibly is aiming at maximum consumer engagement on the platform itself. Previously, whenever you click on a link it will open in the Youtube app or will try to open the video in a browser which is a pretty tedious process without a doubt. Well, what that means is that whenever you receive a link to YouTube video in WhatsApp chat, you will be able to watch that video in a small, rectangular window while also being able to navigate and reply across other chats in the app. But, then, that doesn't seem to be the case.

It may noted that WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to switch between voice and video calls amidst an ongoing voice call.
