Los Angeles sees the global introduction of the new Corvette ZR1 Convertible. It is noted that the new product gets an impressive price tag of $ 123 000, which is equivalent to 7 380 000.

Just how powerful and fast is the 2019 Corvette ZR1? Priced around £93,000 before tax (based on current exchange rates), the drop-top version marks the return of the ZR1 convertible after 48 years - although, like the coupe, it won't be available in the United Kingdom through official channels.

"The new Corvette ZR1 convertible is a supercar in all respects", said Mark Reuss, an Executive VP involved in the project. The convertible is just 27kg heavier than the coupe, mainly due to the folding roof mechanism. The maximum speed of the new sports vehicle is 320 kilometers per hour. The rest is pure ZR1 insanity, with 755 horses, 715 lb-ft of torque, a top speed of 212 miles per hour, and Chevy's new patent-pending active exhaust giving you more noise at high load than ever before. It is noteworthy that soon the novelty will compete for record of the Nurburgring. Yet, the drop top 2019 ZR1 has already caused a stir. Drive is distributed through seven-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmissions. The adjustable high wing is also available as an optional extra through the ZTK Performance Package.

The details at this point are thin save for the price: £92,000 for the convertible and £89,000 for the coupe. "The only structural changes in the convertible are accommodations for the folding top and repositioned safety belt mounts", the company noted in a press release.

If you want your V8 brute to settle down or howl like a werewolf, the new exhaust system has four different modes - Stealth, Tour, Sport and Track. Of course, those are U.S. prices we're looking at, but compared with other topless two-seaters with 755bhp and a top speed well over 210mph, we're looking at quite a bargain. From stealthily warming up your auto on an early morning to virtually unrestricted exhaust flow for maximum performance on "Track" mode.
