Arsene Wenger Denies Mesut Ozil Has Already Agreed To Join Barcelona

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger rules out the possibility of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil leaving the club in January "unless something unbelievable happens".

The German is free to talk to clubs outside of the Premier League and sign pre-contract agreements from January 1.

The Arsenal boss insisted that the duo will still remain Arsenal players at the end of the January window.

"In my head, they stay until the end of the season".

Ozil has been linked with a move to Barcelona while Sanchez nearly joined Manchester City on the final day of the summer transfer window, only for Arsenal to pull the plug when they failed to land Monaco's Thomas Lemar as his replacement.

"The doctor came to see me and said he [Ozil] had to travel back home, he was in the hotel with us", Wenger told a news conference. Will they stay longer?

Though Jose Mourinho hasn't made any official statement regarding the 29-year-old's switch, the Special One is said to be keen on reuniting with his former star. That's impossible to answer'. "You know why? Because they've got players who perform, and play well". I watched them against City, they didn't deserve to lose.

"I always considered his interests because he has been an Arsenal player since a kid", said Wenger."My first priority is what is best for him".

Iwobi replaced Ozil in the starting eleven at the weekend and played 67 minutes before being replaced by Jack Wilshere but it seems the midfielder picked up a leg problem which could rule him out of tomorrow's game.
