While some expected Jurassic World to be a hit, few thought it would be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

The footage appears to indicate a return to practical effects for the franchise, following the criticism levelled at Jurassic World for its over-reliance on computer-generated dinosaurs.

The footage, which might signal the arrival of a trailer soon, sees Chris Pratt playing with a baby dinosaur. And in this clip, he's got a little pal.

Trevorrow captioned the tweet "From our Jurassic family to yours", indicating that the sneak peek is to mark Thanksgiving. The six-second snippet shows Pratt making friends with a new baby raptor which purrs and rubs its head against his hand. Things go awry when technical difficulties lead to dinosaurs going rogue and this time they are even more unsafe and they have been created using different genes from different animals.

Jeff Goldblum will reprise his original role as Dr. Ian Malcolm from the original film.

Directed by J.A. Bayona, Fallen Kingdom takes place after the events of 2015's Jurassic World, which made more than $1.5 billion worldwide. That was all despite, you know, dinosaurs being let loose on a theme park full of people who were mostly brutally maimed and/or killed.

Fallen Kingdom picks up sometime in the aftermath of Jurassic World, though plot details beyond that are being kept under-wraps ahead of the sequel's trailer launch.
