Police sources told Mirror that militant identified as Mugees Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Aziz Mir, who hails from Parimpora and was active since many years, had sustained bullets but managed to escape from the spot at Zukura.

A Special Police Officer (SPO) was also injured in the encounter.

The New Indian Express on Saturday quoted an intelligence report on "Spread of ISIS ideology in Kashmir" saying a twitter handle @JackMoosa posted message with posters on 23 October regarding Islamic State officially announcing formation of its first group in Kashmir. The militants in the auto opened heavy fire in which two cops, including sub-inspector Imran Ahmad Tak, were injured. However, with this development the security forces are now trying to investigate the issue further. He was killed on Friday in a gunfight that also claimed the life of a policeman. He said Mir was "no way affiliated to Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind and al-Qaeda links are been established to malign the Kashmir struggle".

Another militant was captured alive while Mugees fled despite being injured in the shootout. Mugees's body was wrapped in black ISIS flag. He was one among the few militants of Srinagar who are now active in Kashmir. Top police and army officers are holding a press conference on Hajin encounter in the afternoon and maybe they will spill the beans on this new development.
