Ryan case: 'Haryana minister told us not to seek a CBI probe'

Varun Thakur has revealed that a Haryana minister had asked him not to push for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the murder of his 7-year-old son Pradyuman who was found in a pool of blood with his throat slit inside the school washroom on September 8.

The Pradyuman Thakur murder case has been witnessing sensational twists and turns regularly and adding to the list is a latest claim by the father of Class 2 student who was murdered inside Gurugram's Ryan International School.

Pradyuman's family have demanded strict action against the accused if proven guilty. Later, however, the CBI announced that a senior student of the same school was behind the murder, and rejected the police's claim that the conductor was to blame. After the arrest, Pradyuman's father on Tuesday told IANS that Forest and Civil Aviation Minister Narbir Singh had told him not to demand an investigation by the CBI into the murder. "The Haryana Police probe was more acceptable", the BJP MLA from Badhshahpur constituency of Gurugram had said. "If CBI investigation reaches the same conclusion, I will believe that conductor is the murderer".

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij demanded strong action against officers of Haryana Police who investigated the Ryan murder. "So I told them no government marks a CBI inquiry so quickly; let the local authorities probe the matter and if you're not satisfied, in 4-5 days I'll return and we'll transfer to the CBI." said Narbir Singh explaining his stand. India Today has also accessed the copy of remand application which was filed by Gurgaon Police to seek police remand of Ashok in which they have mentioned, "accuse Ashok has confessed to the crime and he has also told us that he purchased the knife used in murder from a shop in Agra", whereas the weapon was recovered from the commode of the washroom in which Pradyuman was killed.

The CBI had also said that the agency did not find any evidence to suggest the role of Kumar in the case.

CBI has virtually given clean chit to Ashok.

Kumar's bail plea will come up on Thursday.
