Here Are The Details of West Indies Tour to Pakistan Next Year

Windies are set to play a three-match Twenty20 series in Pakistan in March and April next year, it was announced on Saturday. "There were talks to play the series in November, but due to unforeseen weather, we didn't take the risk" Sethi said in Lahore. "WICB will send its full-strength national team in 2018 and will play three T20Is [on] March 29, 31 and April 1".

"We have an agreement with West Indies for the next five years", PCB chairman Najam Sethi said in comments published by Dawn newspaper.

"Now we will start everything from March next year".

The last global match played at National Stadium was the first Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka during the 2009 series, following which there was an armed attack on the Sri Lankan team bus, the incident that led to Pakistan being shunned by visiting teams.

There is certain news around about a T20 series between Pakistan and West Indies in November.

Both CWI and the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) have given their approval for the series after ensuring that the security arrangements in Pakistan would remain the same as it was during the World XI series and the lone T20I against Sri Lanka played in Lahore recently.

Since then, Pakistan have been forced to play home games in United Arab Emirates, as all major Test- playing nations have refused to tour the country because of security concerns.

"We have made a commitment to try our best to have it in Karachi".

Sethi said the agreement with West Indies showed a confidence by global sides in touring Pakistan again.

While West Indies will tour Pakistan, Sethi said it was CWI's (Cricket West Indies) decision not to have the return series in the Caribbean because of commercial reasons.
