Users Reporting iPhone X Becomes Unresponsive In Cold Weather

Before the new software was released, Apple suggested a quick fix that had users updating their keyboard settings for the letter "i".

Apple is working on a software fix for a mystery bug that causes the iPhone X's display to become unresponsive in cold weather.

Users have taken a Reddit thread to complain that the iPhone X's screen becomes unresponsive when they step outside into the cold. The post adds further, "literally takes 2 seconds from going inside to the cold outdoors and my screen stops being very responsive".

"For Phrase, type an upper-case 'I, '" Apple said on its website.

Some iPhone X owners are having problems when they try to use the new handset in cold weather.

Edit: possible other explanation might be the drastic changes in light that are causing problems.

On Reddit, one person claimed his gadget suffered issues at a temperate of about 7C.

It is unknown what is limiting the number of debit and credit cards to eight on older iOS and Apple Watch models, while the latest devices can get 12 cards.

The general temperature guidelines on Apple's website advise that devices work best between 0º and 35º C. Apple warns that temperatures lower or higher than this range may meddle with how your device operates. Possibly, the unresponsive screen issue results due to a rapid change in temperature and once it is stabilized, the screen starts to respond again.

Apple issued iOS 11.1.1 this week, promising issues including the weird "i" autocorrect, which changed the letter to an A and a question mark symbol.

Until you install the update, many iPhones will continue to autocorrect the letter "i" to ⍰ or a capitalised letter "A".

This is it for now, folks.

"We also want our customers to know that an iPhone is actually created to shut down automatically under certain conditions, such as extremely cold temperature". Share your views with us in the comments.
