Flipkart to launch its own Billion Capture

Flipkart has nailed it this time with an announcement that has left the consumers thrilled and critics flabbergasted.

This smartphone from Flipkart's self-brand gets the power from a 3500mAh battery, which is touted to render up to two days of battery life to the device. It will be priced around Rs 11,000-13,000 and will be manufactured by Smartrone, an Indian device maker. For smartphone buyers, this is a new area that the ecommerce giant is venturing into, and there is little value addition that Flipkart can add in terms of core technologies.

The smartphone has been unveiled in two variants.

This phone will be available in two configurations - 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM at Rs. 10,999 and 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM at Rs. 12,999 and will go on sale exclusviely on Flipkart from 15th November. It will be available in 3GB RAM with 32 GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64 GB of storage options. Both variants come in two colours - Mystic Black and Desert Gold. The device even hops on the pure Android trend with a stock version of Nougat and an Oreo update on its way. At the front, the phone comes sporting a 5.5-inch 1080p display with a pixel density of 401 PPI. The screen is further enhanced by a 2.5D curved glass and offers a better user experience.

This phone has metal body and offers connectivity options of 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, Global Positioning System and USB Type-C. This has a USB Type C charger and Quick Charge with Flipkart promising seven hours of battery life with just 15 minutes of charging. However, the photos showcasing the camera on Flipkart do not actually look like they were taken using the device. There is also a dual tone LED flash accompanying the camera. Apart from the usual Auto and Panorama mode, the handset has a Supernight mode for low-light imaging, Portrait mode for bokeh shots and the Pro mode for finer control over the various aspects of imaging. Other than this there are other intriguing features such as monochrome sensors and RGB and monochrome sensors that offer a depth of field effect.

Instead of making it a fancy gadget, Flipkart has ensembled the features which was most searched by the customers on the e-commerce platforms while buying a smartphone online while keeping the price in mind. At this price, the Flipkart Billion Capture+ may be a worthy smartphone, but it will be competing directly with the likes of the Redmi Note 4 and Mi A1.
