Nokia 5 gets a new variant with 3GB RAM, officially launched

This comes as a surprise to us too but Nokia 5 with 3GB RAM is a thing and is going on sale tonight at 00:00 Hours on Flipkart, major Indian retailer.

From the original 2GB RAM configuration, the Nokia 5 will be out with 3GB RAM.

On the imaging front, the Nokia 5 comes with a 13MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus, a dual-LED flash and an aperture of f/2.0. If there was one recommendation that users had for the Nokia 5, released a few months ago in India, was that the model hosted a rather regrettable 2 GB RAM.

The Nokia 5 has been under our nose since February when it was launched together with the Nokia 3 and Nokia 6. The device runs on an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery. HMD Global has promised to upgrade this device with the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update in the coming days. Along with this, it has an 8 Megapixel of front facing camera to capture the flawless selfies and to make quality video calls through the phone.

The phone offers nearly all types of connectivity options to connect the device with the web to explore the right things from the web.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, GLONASS, FM Radio, NFC, USB OTG, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The battery is non-removable. The phone was launched at a higher price tag which now gets Rs. 1800 off on the original price. Unlike the 2GB RAM variant, which is only available offline, the 3GB RAM variant is set to go on sale via Flipkart from 12AM tonight for Rs 13,499. Nokia 2, which is hailed to be the cheapest mobile phone being offered by HMD Global, will be available across stores by mid-November. Moreover, Flipkart is also believed to be offering a Jio-Nokia Data offer on the purchase of the Smartphone. Of course, there are some other launch-time discounts as well, including no cost EMIs and additional discounts on certain credit cards. The exact availability dates are not yet decided.
