"Xenoblade Chronicles 2" Video Reveals Expansion Pass, "Zelda" Collab

Those releases will be followed by a "new rare blade" and a challenge battle mode in spring and summer 2018, respectively, and finally, Nintendo promises a brand new story on tap for fall 2018.

Curiously, the various content drops will not be available individually, meaning that players will have to pay the full price upfront, even if they only want access to one of the expansions.

The Direct also announced a Season Pass for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 called an Expansion Pass. Although it wasn't explicitly mentioned, this DLC side quest will be available as a free download or an in-game update.

While the first Xenoblade Chronicles featured a primarily British voice cast that's become highly quotable in its own right, the availability of the original Japanese take on the characters and their story was a welcome addition.

The Direct discussed details of Blades, which are artificial lifeforms that bond with Drivers like Xenoblade Chronicles 2's main character, Rex. The main protagonist, Rex, is a Driver and Pyra is a Blade. Other allies are designated as Support for each Driver, which come as either Tank, Attacker, or Healer, and help determine the Driver's class. Abilities differ from Blade to Blade, so selecting different Blades adds to the strategy of battle. Should they manage to defeat certain Unique Beasts, a tombstone will be left behind to commemorate the creature and allow players to relive those battles for additional rewards. Are you going to pick up Xenoblade Chronicles 2 when it launches on December 1 for the Nintendo Switch? More details about each pack will be released in the future. The collector's edition and special Nintendo pro controller will also release on launch day. It's great to see that availability continue in the next, upcoming release, and it's a good sign when it comes to ongoing trends from Nintendo.
