J&K: One soldier killed during encounter with militants in Pulwama

One soldier was killed after an encounter broke out between Indian security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. He said that the Army has reason to believe that the particular weapon was given to JeM cadres by the Pakistan Army, clearly showing the "complicity between the Pakistani forces and the Jaish-e-Mohammed".

The martyred soldier has been identified as Sham Sunder of 44 Rashtriya Rifles. The injured has been rushed to a nearby hospital.

"It is the same group that was wanted for the attack on the police check-post in Rajpora".

A police official told Rising Kashmir that the forces cordoned off Kandi Aglar after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in a residential house.

Sources said that during the search operations, terrorists opened fire at the forces. A civilian namely Tariq Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Bhat, resident of Kandi Aglar was also injured when massive clashes between locals and security forces erupted in the area amid encounter.

Meanwhile, Internet facility in Pulwama district has been suspended to check the spread of rumours in the area with security reinforcement have reached to plug the possible escape routes for the hiding terrorists.
