Yes, it was abnormally warm earlier in the month.

The National Weather Service actually issued the region's first frost advisory on Monday, but it only affected the far-out suburbs to the north and west. Meteorologists say Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton and surrounding areas usually see the first frost between October 11 and October 20.

Temperatures are expected to drop to between 32 and 37 degrees overnight in the area.

Warmer weather moves back in for the middle to the end of the week, as temperatures go back above average into the 70s. In Hunterdon and Somerset, the advisory runs from 4 a.m.to 9 a.m. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid 30s. However, temperatures are not expected to fall enough for a freeze warning. Lows will reach the upper 30s in numerous cities, with low 30s possible in the coldest outlying areas.

After Wednesday, high pressure will slowly begin to slip south, helping to boost overnight lows and daytime highs.
