The Germany worldwide will be out of contract in less than a years' time but is still no nearer to extending his stay at Arsenal by signing a new deal.

It is claimed Real are unlikely to move for the player who spent three years in the Spanish capital before joining Arsenal and his ties with Mourinho may have a significant influence on his decision.

The German World Cup victor has reportedly named Manchester United, FC Barcelona and former club Real Madrid as his ideal destinations. As it stands, Ozil is able to leave the club for nothing at the end of June, and will be able to talk about signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs from January.

Ozil, who splits opinion among both fans and pundits due to his languid style on the pitch, has been at the Emirates stadium since 2013, when he arrived from Real Madrid for 50 million Euro.

Barcelona, meanwhile, are looking for more creativity in their midfield.

Sadly, it hasn't worked out like that, with Ozil only sporadically producing the moments of magic which became synonymous with his time in Madrid. I think Arsenal should have sold him.

"He didn't want to go?"

'I think in some departments he's already left.

Contract negotiations resumed between both Arsenal and Mesut Ozil at the start of the season, but while the German worldwide is certainly a valuable player, and they wouldn't want to lose him for free.

According to Manchester Evening News, star midfielder Juan Mata could be forcefully offloaded by Mourinho if he brings in Mesut Ozil next summer, as the ex-Chelsea boss is likely to prefer the latter in his starting line-up over the Spanish global.

"It is something I didn't see before". 'Sanchez is different. He loves playing football, just give him a ball and he'll play and that's all he wants to do.
