The MRA Marg police station, where Vikamsey's missing complaint was registered on Wednesday, has recovered her missing handbag.

The 21-year-old daughter of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) president Nilesh Vikamsey was found dead on railway tracks in Central Mumbai on Wednesday evening.

Pallavi, who recently completed her law studies, was last seen boarding a train from platform no. 5 at Mumbai's CSMT station. After she sent a message "no one is responsible" to her sister-in-law, Vikamsey's family panicked and went to her office where her handbag was found.

There are multiple injuries on the body including the head. According to a Government Railway Police (GRP) official she was last seen at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station (CSMT) station around 6PM. He said, "People close to Pallavi have confirmed that she had been noticeably depressed, and that her behaviour had changed in recent weeks". But the GRP received a memo from the Parel station master's office only at 7.15 pm.

Pallavi texted her family saying she meant to end her life.

Pallavi Vikamsey, daughter of ICAI president Nilesh Vikamsey was a law intern.

Though an NDTV report stated that the police called Pallavi's death accidental, other media reports have claimed that the investigating officers are probing the angle whether the budding lawyer killed herself. On Saturday, the statement of the witness Geeta Gaikward who had alerted the RPF control room helpline number 182, within minutes after Pallavi fell off the train, was recorded with the Dadar railway police.

"Based on the statements of her parents and friends, it is clear that Pallavi committed suicide", said Manoj Kumar Sharma, deputy commissioner of police (zone 1). Till now we found no foul play in this. Today her relatives confirmed her as Pallavi Vikamsey. "A missing was registered in MRA Marg police staion." said DCP GRP Samadhan Pawar.
